1. S'mores and Snores

Register to enjoy the fresh air of spring at the Zoo. It will be a special evening to visit with the animals as they get ready for nighttime. After the tour, there will be a campfire, complete with s'mores (after the animals have begun their snores)!

The fee includes zoo admission and a s'more. Ages 1 and under are free.

2. Free Comic Book Day @ Algonquin Library

May the 4th be with you!

It's Free Comic Book Day with the Algonquin Library, both Eastgate Branch and Harnish Main! You can pick up free comics and do crafts. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

3. Garden Party (Downtown Crystal Lake)

Get ready for a day of floral delights and family fun at Downtown Crystal Lake’s annual Garden Party. Start your day at the Clock Tower, where you can pick up beautiful flowers for your garden. Then, head to Depot Park for craft vendors, free kids’ crafts, and a special story time hosted by our public library. Don’t miss out on this blooming good time!

4.  Touch a Truck in Pingree Grove

Come see fire trucks, ambulance, police car, cement truck, dump truck, garbage truck, and more! There is also food, kids' galactic roadmap, and a prize drawing!

Quiet hour is held from 12pm-1pm. No horns, sirens, PA systems, or galactic battling during this time.

5. Sunday MakeBreak: Yayoi Kusama Inspired Painting

Join us in-store to create a painting inspired by Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, celebrating AAPI Month!

All you need to do is purchase a square Canvas base and we’ll provide the paint, brushes, and other supplies.
