Overview:
Macaroni KID was started by a husband and wife who wanted to post ideas of things to do with kids in the area. Something they were personally looking for, a page that had everything going on in the community/ activities to do at home as well in one place. Well the idea took off and they became Macaroni KID, adding different publishers around the nation. Macaroni KID became official in 2007.
Then, three years later in 2010, while Macaroni KID was growing, another couple started a company called CertifiKID. You might remember them from being on the show Shark Tank. Their goal was to create a page that listed deals for families on things to do (many people refer to it like a Groupon specifically for families).
In 2020 MacaroniKID joined forces with CertifiKID and now are a website with not only events, but discounts for events as well. Both strive to advertise fun low cost activities to do as a family.
In January of this year, 2023, HulaFrog joined the group spreading the amount of family information, activities, and discounts even further.
HulaFrog was started in 2010 as well by two moms with a similar goal of Macaroni KID, to get knowledge out there of things to do locally.
To sum it up CertifiKID is the main company that adopted MacaroniKID and HulaFrog and together they share National and local deals, activities, advise, events and more to each publishing city.
You are currently on the page published by me, Becky, which is for the city of Carpentersville, IL and surrounding cities (Algonquin, Cary, Dundee, Fox River Grove, Gilberts, Huntley, and Lake in the Hills).
What is the goal of this page? The same as its founders, to have one page with as many activities as possible for you to look at to see what is happening in the area (or to do at home), to offer National and local discounts, to bring the community together, and to support its locally owned businesses.
The only way to make sure you get every detail of what is being offered is to subscribe!! It’s free and you get a newsletter once a week. Subscribers get emailed activities just for subscribers and deals just for being one. Why have subscribers? It helps us to see who is interested in our page and the more subscribers we have the more locally owned businesses get notified.
